It's Logan's Birthday

 Banana Split at Culvers
My sister took me to Culvers when I went and saw her in Iowa City, now we have one in our area.  Delicious frozen custard.
Playing basketball with a new ball.
At Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Logan bought Roofus a treat.
 Chocolate Covered Strawberry, YUM!
 Logan Loves this Place
 Went to a movie
Looks like the best day ever!
 Picked out a new basketball.
Logan loves IHOP.  He has a feast.
Our little family, Colby is back in WA and Jake was running for UVU in Cal.
Everyone picked a breakfast item but me, and what I picked was amazing!
Cake from Costco, our tradition.  Faith and Kyle joined us.  We shared it with them, they took some home, we gave some to our neighbors and home teachers and still have some....gotta love the Costco cake.
Plus it tastes the best.

Have you seen Pinterest?

Kelsi discovered Pinterest right about the same time I was introduced to it. She fell in love with searching and looking for things that interested her on it. While we were at the post office one Saturday she found the recipe for a cheesecake with a chocolate crust on Pinterest. While we were in line she was reading me the ingredients and showing me pictures of it. When we left the post office I drove over to Walmart and we purchases the ingredients to make it.
She was surprised that I had a springform pan.
She was surprised that I was implusive.

It turned out perfect.
She took pictures and pinned it again. It was a success.

How Do You Tell A Dog His Owner Is Coming Home?

Roofus's owner (dad) is coming home to Utah.
How do you tell him?
Logan has been counting it down to him.
We tell him something great is happening on Friday.
We are preparing Colby's  room.

He has no idea until the car pulls in the garage and Colby sticks his head in the door.
Roofus wagged off his tail and "talked" and rushed to him.

It was a sight to see.  He's been gone since September and we have missed him so.
There was school to finish up in Washington and there was no other way to get it done.

Home to stay.  What a joy.  For all of us.
Colby's first meal home was lasagna and what did he say as he sat down to eat.....
"I have been waiting for this for 3 months!"

Attitude of gratitude:
~I am grateful for happy children talking together.
~ Today I am grateful for my sister who takes time to be with me and be my friend.
~ I am grateful for simple acts of kindness shown to me.
~ I am grateful that when Logan had a surprise game on Friday at 4, I was able to attend and Kim went by himself to help at the Ward Christmas Party.  We were both asked to help serve food at it, but when the game came up he went and worked double hard in my absence.

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving Weekend

      G
Great way to start the day.....breakfast on a day off. Mom is already in the kitchen.
      I
In the morning, we watched the Macey's Parade. Before the football games start, we love a good parade.
      V
Very important stomach stretching going on here, a meal before the meal. We just had a quick snack to hold us over...table was already set and we used paper plates. Dishwasher needs to stay empty.
      E
Every year, it's the same delicious rolls that come out of this kitchen. The best refrigerator rolls and they are so easy. It's a holiday tradition.
      T
Table looks pretty and ready for the big feast. Shoot, should have moved the chair off the deck. We only added one chair as Colby is not here and Faith and Kyle came.
      H
Hour says 1:00, table is ready but we won't eat until 5:00. How nice to get it done in advance..one year I set the table the night before.
      A
A beef bone for the dog to chew on, no turkey here at my house. Our rib roast got us our favorite Thanksgiving fixings but no turkey meat. YEA!
      N
Knocking back after the big meal, playing a game. This was fun. We watched them make players and play on the court set back in the 80's and then the 50's.
      K
Kyle brought the latest and greatest basketball game, X-Box got moved up. And due to the NBA lockout, it's the only basketball this TV is showing right now.
      S

So it was a great holiday. A little bit of work but a lot of fun.

Is that canned soup?

Yes it's true....
And this is why.
For the past 2 weeks I have been down a copy machine and I have had to work extra hours just to get all my work done.
In addition to my usual work our school is doing a play and she needed 1500 programs. It takes one hour to run 300 and it ties up my machine.
But who can complain about tomato soup with toasted cheese? No one in my house. It's a comfort food!!!!

Attitude of gratitude:
~We had our first snowfall!
~ A shield thing that Kim bought me to lay over my windshield at night to keep me from scraping ice. It saves me precious 5 minutes in the morning.
~ Today they took 2 stakes and made 3 and I am grateful that I have lived here long enough that I recognized some of the names they read out.
~ Thanksgiving is this week, only 2 days to work and 5 days off!

Let the games begin :)

Both kids made their teams! We are so excited to watch them play!

Attitude of gratitude:
~I am grateful that my kids want to play for a team, and can practice for 2 ½ hours every day and they don’t mind getting yelled during practices. (With Jake running for UVU they are all at practice every day.)
~ I'm grateful for work, somewhere cheerful to go during the day.
~ I’m grateful that my school decorates for Christmas, which they did today.
It’s so pretty and festive.
~ Today my husband brought maple bars to my work at 8:30 am for me and my kids. Wow, it was a nice surprise and they were delish!
